Lachlan has been involved in gymnastics for over 25 years. First as a recreational gymnast, before starting as a young beginner coach at 15 to now a high-performance coach with a bachelor's majoring in exercise sport science and Head Men's Coach at BTYC Gymnastics.
Of the last 17 years of coaching, over 10 of them have been working with the Victorian team and High-performance athletes, having taken athletes overseas to the UK and Japan for competitions and camps. Lachlan is honoured to be working with a great team of athletes at BTYC, with national squad athletes, state team athletes and national level 10 champions.
Whilst Lachlan enjoys working with the high end of our sport, his real passion is with athlete development in the lower levels. Lachlan currently works with a squad of athletes age ranging from 9-14 years old who are on the high-performance pathway. Physical preparation, skill development and artistic performance are the keys to succeeding in this sport.
As a presenter for gymnastic Victoria, Lachlan enjoys sharing his knowledge of creative ways to improve athlete performance as well as help coaches understand and implement periodization and thorough planning into their day-to-day training environment.
